Power Keepers

Series: EX

Release date: February 14, 2007

Cards: 108

Set code: EX16

The EX Series ends with this expansion, which reached English shops while Japan had already moved on to Diamond and Pearl. Japan received the same cards months afterwards as the World Champions Pack, sold by mail order to its own players so they would not arrive at the 2007 World Championships without the cards everyone else was using. Much of the checklist is deliberately old, Steven's Advice, Professor Birch, Scott, Battle Frontier, Master Ball, Energy Switch and Multi Energy all coming back from earlier sets. Several Pokémon return with their rules text untouched and a fresh painting instead, Gardevoir passing from Ken Sugimori to Midori Harada, and Slaking doing the same. Emerald is the game behind it, and each of the Hoenn Elite Four gets a Stadium card of their own, Sidney's, Phoebe's, Glacia's and Drake's. Masakazu Fukuda's Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon Gold Stars are what the boxes were opened for, with Ken Sugimori's Charizard just behind them. Power Keepers (EX16) was released on February 14, 2007 in the EX series, with 108 cards. Its most expensive card is Flareon Gold Star #100 (Gold Star), at $1,437.42 (median of 8 sales over 30 days, October 1, 2026).
