Delta Species

Series: EX

Release date: October 31, 2005

Cards: 113 (1 secret)

Set code: EX11

A laboratory accident at the Holon research tower is the story this expansion tells, and the δ Delta Species are its result, Pokémon printed with types their species has no business carrying. Thirty-five of them appear, wearing a double helix around the artwork window and a δ beside the name, and every dual-typed one takes Metal as its second type. Holon's Pokémon arrive at the same time, four cards you may attach from hand as a Special Energy instead of playing them as Pokémon: Holon's Magnemite and Holon's Voltorb provide Colorless, while Holon's Electrode and Holon's Magneton go on a Pokémon that already carries Energy and provide every type of Energy, two at a time. Only three Pokémon-ex made it in, the Kanto Eeveelutions Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon. Groudon, Kyogre and Metagross take the last three numbers as Gold Stars, sharing a single attack that pays out more the further behind you are. Ten Ditto run through the checklist, all Yuka Morii clay models: one is Ditto itself and the other nine are disguised as six Pokémon, Charmander, Pikachu and Squirtle each turning up twice, while an Azumarill numbered past the total rode on top of sealed booster boxes. Delta Species (EX11) was released on October 31, 2005 in the EX series, with 113 cards plus 1 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Metagross Gold Star #113 (Gold Star), at $2,259.59 (median of 3 sales over 90 days, September 24, 2026).
