Pokémon Centers have given out or sold 60 numbered cards made for one of their shops, 57 of them for an opening, a move or an anniversary: from the "Pokémon Center" and "Lucky Stadium" of New York's opening in November 2001 to the three city Pikachu sold by lottery in 2025. Six unnumbered cards, five of them jumbos, complete the list. New York's four are English, Taipei's 2023 Pikachu is Traditional Chinese and the rest are Japanese. The best known are the city Pikachu: fifteen cards named after nine shops since December 2014.

The latest openings brought none: Kagawa (October 2025) and the Yokohama Satellite (April 2026) had no card, and the company has said Bangkok (December 2026) will have none. In the United States, a "Pokémon Center promo" usually means the online store's own: the copy of the promo printed with a Pokémon Center logo in each Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, and gift-with-purchase cards, covered at the end.

Prices below are medians of real completed sales, in US dollars, as of September 24, 2026; "est." marks a median resting on one or two sales. Not counted: promos handed out with purchases or at shop battles that neither name a shop nor mark an opening or anniversary (such as Shopping Pikachu 079/L-P, a Pokémon Center giveaway of August 2010), and the Trainer cards named after the games' healing spot, such as Base Set's "Pokémon Center" and "Pokémon Center Lady".

Every Pokémon Center card, shop by shop

From Mega Tokyo's Pikachu in 2014, most of these cards went out at every Pokémon Center in Japan, and from 2016 at every Pokémon Store too, not only at the shop they celebrate: the name gives the shop, not the counter. The tables say where a card was given at one shop only.

The city Pikachu, and the costumed ones

Mega Tokyo's Pikachu 098/XY-P, given when the Tokyo shop moved to Ikebukuro as MEGA TOKYO in December 2014, was the first card to name a Pokémon after its shop. Fifteen city Pikachu now carry a shop's name, for nine shops: Mega Tokyo (098/XY-P, and the 2016 event prize 204/XY-P), Sapporo, Tohoku (2017 and 2025), Yokohama (four), Shibuya, Kanazawa (two), Taipei, Hiroshima and Fukuoka. Several shops got Pikachu named after a costume instead, or as well: Hiroshima in 2015, Kyoto, Skytree Town, Sapporo in its 2017 box, Tokyo DX and Osaka DX. Tohoku's first shop card, in 2011, was simply called Pikachu (120/BW-P).

Many of them announce the occasion in their first attack: "Mega Open!" on the two Mega Tokyo cards, "New Open" for the new shops (Shibuya, Kanazawa, Tokyo DX's Gentlemanly Pikachu, Osaka DX), "Renewal Open!" for the moved ones (Sapporo, Tohoku, Yokohama's 282, Hiroshima, Fukuoka) and 新開幕, "grand opening", on Taipei's. The art went from costume to street: ponchos at first (Mega Charizard for Mega Tokyo in 2014, Rowlet for Tohoku in 2017), then sailors for Yokohama, a kimono with a temari-ball pattern for Kanazawa and graffiti for Shibuya, and since 2023 a local scene: Taipei's night market, Tanabata streamers for Tohoku, maple leaves for Hiroshima, food stalls for Fukuoka.

The fifteen city Pikachu, 2014 to 2025, for nine shops: Mega Tokyo (two), Sapporo, Tohoku (two), Yokohama (four), Shibuya, Kanazawa (two), Taipei, Hiroshima and Fukuoka.
2016: Kyoto's Okuge-sama and Maiko-han Pikachu and the seven cards of its Ho-Oh + Lugia set, then Skytree Town's two box Pikachu and its shiny Rayquaza.
More shop cards: Hiroshima's Pretend Magikarp and Gyarados Pikachu and its Gyarados Battle prize (2015), Sapporo's two Poncho-wearing Pikachu and Tohoku's Jirachi (2017), the four Tokyo DX Pikachu (2018), Kyoto's Pretend Tea Ceremony and Osaka DX's Pretend Comedian Pikachu (2019), the Milotic and Sobble of the Kanazawa box (2020).

Box or gift: the badge tells them apart

Many shop cards print a round badge at the edge of the art: the shop's logo, with its name and its emblem Pokémon, such as Dragonite for Taipei or Milotic for Kanazawa. Five campaigns had both gift cards and a Special Box, and in all five the badge is on the gift cards only: Sapporo (2016 and 2017), Skytree Town (2016), Tokyo DX (2018), Yokohama (2018) and Kanazawa (2020), where 144/S-P and 147/S-P share Fuzichoco's art and only the free 144 carries it. Two sold products break the pattern: four of the seven cards in Kyoto's 2016 Ho-Oh + Lugia set bear the plain Pokémon Center logo, without a shop name, and the 2025 box cards, which had no gift twin, carry their shop's badge.

In four of the five the box cards sell for more raw; at Sapporo the box and gift cards sell for about the same raw ($500 and $541 est. against $510), and the box cards for far more in PSA 10. The likeliest reason is supply: the gift cards went to buyers or visitors for weeks, the box cards only to box buyers, and the graded counts point the same way, most of all at Kanazawa.

The anniversaries: 2008, 2013 and 2018

The first Pokémon Center opened in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, on April 25, 1998, and the chain marked its tenth, fifteenth and twentieth years with cards.

For the tenth, the chain gave "Pokémon Center 10th anniversary original cards" with any purchase, in four waves: in 2008 a Pikachu photographed in each of the five shops then open (098 to 102/DP-P: Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka, from May 30 to June 15), then a Charmander (August 22 to September 7, 2008), a Squirtle picked by a customer vote over Meowth (November 14 to 28, 2008) and a Bulbasaur (April 4 to 17, 2009); shoppers who brought any two of them also got a Charmander coin. All eight are photographs of clay figures by Yuka Morii, and their first attacks all have to do with shopping (おかいもの, "shopping", on the Pikachu). The five Pikachu differ only by their photograph, yet Fukuoka's sells for $1,254 raw (3 sales) against $348 for Yokohama's (5 sales); CGC had graded 7 Fukuoka copies against 16 to 26 of each of the others.

The fifteenth brought a single card: Pikachu 229/BW-P, a 3D image by 5ban Graphics and the only card of the Pokémon Center 15th Anniversary Card Premium Set (2,500 yen, June 8, 2013), now the most valuable anniversary card at $1,836 raw (4 sales) and $14,960 in PSA 10 (5 sales). The twentieth, from April 25, 2018, brought three: Pikachu 224/SM-P for every five packs bought, a Shaymin 225/SM-P drawn by Shoko Nakagawa for anyone who gave staff the password "Pokénchiwa!" (one per person), and Ken Sugimori's Red's Pikachu 270/SM-P for every five packs from August 25, 2018.

The anniversary cards: the five 2008 Pikachu, one per shop, and the Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur that followed (tenth); Pikachu 229/BW-P (fifteenth); Pikachu, Shaymin and Red's Pikachu (twentieth).

New York: the four English cards

Pokémon Center New York, at 10 Rockefeller Plaza, was the first Pokémon Center outside Japan: it opened on November 16, 2001, closed in January 2005, and remains the only permanent Pokémon Center the United States has had. For the opening, visitors who brought the invitation postcard received the "Pokémon Center" promo, 40, or a book made for the event, and a "Lucky Stadium" promo, 41, came out too, both drawn by "Big Mama" Tagawa. In November 2002 the shop handed out Rapidash 51 and Ho-Oh 52 with the words "Pokémon Center NY" printed under the art; the same two cards without them came in the November 2002 issue of Nintendo Power.

In Japan, the Tokyo and Osaka shops marked the New York opening from January 3 to 5, 2002 with Trainer cards of their own, 019/P and 020/P, whose art shows each shop: 3,000 a day went to the first visitors, one each, with a coin. Fakes of 40 and 41 exist: one known pair had printed fronts glued onto modern cards, which made them almost twice as thick as a genuine card. Our guide to spotting fake cards explains how to check a copy.

Pokémon Center New York's four English cards and the two Japanese Trainer cards that marked its opening, then the early Japanese shop cards: LaRousse's Munchlax (2004), Treecko (2005), Yokohama's Captain Pikachu jumbo (2008) and Tohoku's Pikachu (2011).

Taipei, and the Centers abroad with no card

Of the Pokémon Centers open outside Japan, only Taipei has had a card: Taipei's Pikachu 057/SV-P, in Traditional Chinese and drawn by REOspikee, given with any purchase when Pokémon Center TAIPEI opened on December 8, 2023, and at counters of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store around it to shoppers with the store's app or a same-day receipt. Its first attack reads 新開幕, "grand opening", and its badge shows Dragonite. It is not the Japanese 057/SV-P, which is a Penny Supporter card.

Pokémon Center SINGAPORE, the first permanent Center in Asia outside Japan, opened on April 17, 2019 and reopened after a refit on July 1, 2026; the announcements of neither opening mention a card. Pokémon Center BANGKOK opens in December 2026, and the company has said there will be no card for the opening. No card is on record for the temporary Pokémon Centers of Paris (June 2014) and London (October 2019) either.

Since 2021: openings without cards, and the lottery boxes

Kanazawa's Pikachu, in November 2020, was the last card given away for an opening in Japan. Since then the openings have come without one: OKINAWA (August 11, 2022, a Pokémon Store promoted to a Center), the refitted TOKYO-BAY (April 12, 2024, a clear file for purchases of 3,000 yen or more), NAGOYA in its new PARCO shop (October 12, 2024, a Celebi coaster with any purchase), KAGAWA (October 24, 2025, the first Center on Shikoku, a Slowpoke code for Pokémon Legends: Z-A) and the YOKOHAMA Satellite (April 9, 2026). MEGA TOKYO reopened on August 24, 2026, after a closure that began in March, without one either.

The city Pikachu came back in 2025, but in a box. The TOHOKU, HIROSHIMA and FUKUOKA shops moved that year with no opening card; instead, from June 13, 2025, Pokémon Center Online sold a Special Box for each by lottery, one per person, at 2,090 yen including tax: a holo city Pikachu (260, 261 and 289/SV-P), 64 sleeves, a deck case and a card box, delivered from mid-August to late September 2025. More were made: a second lottery ran in September 2025 and a third in March 2026, when the company said further runs would follow. At $78.94 to $93.19 raw they are the cheapest city Pikachu, and CGC had graded 851 to 1,037 copies of each, more than of any other city Pikachu except Kanazawa's free 144 and Shibuya's 002.

Pokémon Center promos in the United States

In the United States the Pokémon Center is an online store, and a "Pokémon Center promo" there is one of two things, as of September 24, 2026.

The logo promo in a Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box. Since the Scarlet & Violet base set of March 2023, the Pokémon Center version of an expansion's Elite Trainer Box, sold only by the store, has held 11 booster packs instead of 9 and two copies of the box's full-art promo, one of them with a Pokémon Center logo: two Koraidon or two Miraidon in 2023, two Eevee in Prismatic Evolutions (January 2025), two Zarude in Pitch Black (July 2026).

Gift-with-purchase promos. Around some events, the store adds a promo card to orders, while supplies last:

How to get them today

None of the Japanese shop cards is handed out any more. Only the 2025 boxes have been sold again, in Pokémon Center Online lotteries (the latest in March 2026), and that store delivers in Japan only. The rest trade second-hand, including through Japanese card shops and auction sites, which buyers abroad reach through a proxy service, as our guide to buying Japanese cards from abroad explains. Sealed Special Boxes sell too: as of September 24, 2026, the 2025 Tohoku and Fukuoka boxes for $88.21 (5 sales) and $83.96 (8 sales), Hiroshima's for $177 (7 sales), and the 2020 Kanazawa box, with its 19 packs, for $1,229 (5 sales).

Check the number, not only the art: several shop cards exist in two prints (144 and 147/S-P), Yokohama's Pikachu comes in four (280 to 283/SM-P), and the Traditional Chinese 057/SV-P is not the Japanese one. Our guide to Pokémon Centers around the world lists the shops open today, and our Tokyo guide covers the four in the capital.
