There are 20 official Pokémon Centers open in the world as of September 24, 2026: 18 in Japan, one in Singapore and one in Taipei. Japan also has five smaller Pokémon Stores. The next Center, Pokémon Center BANGKOK, opens in December 2026 on the sixth floor of centralwOrld.
This page covers the permanent Centers open today, the one announced, the temporary Pokémon Centers (Kuala Lumpur until December 31, 2026, Manila from October 2026, Hong Kong from November 2026) and the ones that closed. The map shows Japan; Singapore, Taipei and the three closed Centers are listed under it, and Bangkok has its own section further down.
If you want to buy rather than visit: seven countries have a Pokémon Center online store (the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Japan). Each delivers only at home, except that the Australian and New Zealand stores both deliver to the two countries.
Outside Japan
Pokémon Center SINGAPORE
Emblem Solgaleo. Chosen, the company said, for its sun-like mane and to root the store more deeply in Singapore. From 2019 to 2026 the emblem showed Pikachu with Lapras and Celebi.
The first permanent Pokémon Center in Asia outside Japan (New York, from 2001 to 2005, was the first outside Japan). Closed for a full refit from April to June 2026 and reopened on July 1 with a Singapore-heritage design and Solgaleo as its emblem.
Pokémon Center TAIPEI 寶可夢中心
Emblem Dragonite. Taiwanese press at the opening wrote that the company never gave a reason, and left it to fans to guess.
The second permanent Pokémon Center in Asia outside Japan, after Singapore. Bangkok, due in December 2026, will be the third.
Hokkaidō
Pokémon Center SAPPORO ポケモンセンターサッポロ
Emblem Alolan Vulpix and Sprigatito. Hokkaidō made Alolan Vulpix one of its two ambassadorial Pokémon in October 2018, for one of the snowiest parts of Japan. The emblem came first, in December 2016.

Emblem Miraidon. Announced together with Koraidon at Osaka on the day Scarlet and Violet launched, in November 2022, one shop for each of the pair.
The direct descendant of the original Pokémon Center of 1998, renamed when it moved to Ikebukuro. Shut from March 26, 2026, the day a member of staff was killed in an attack inside the shop, and reopened on August 24 after a partial refit, with entry on timed numbered tickets for the first week back.
Pokémon Center SHIBUYA ポケモンセンターシブヤ
Emblem Mewtwo and Mew
Opened the same day, on the same floor, as Nintendo TOKYO. The two are separate shops run by separate companies, which is the source of a permanent confusion.
Pokémon Center SKYTREE TOWN ポケモンセンタースカイツリータウン
Emblem Rayquaza. The one emblem the announcement actually explains: Tokyo Skytree is conceived as a great tree reaching for the sky, and Rayquaza is said to live in the upper atmosphere.
Opened on the 5th floor in July 2016 and moved to the 4th on January 1, 2017.
Pokémon Center TOKYO-BAY ポケモンセンタートウキョーベイ
Emblem Ampharos and Marill. The shop is built as a bay-side landscape of seaside parks and lighthouses, with the other Pokémon led by Ampharos. The choice itself is never explained.

The newest shop in the network as of September 2026, and a smaller format. A large screen has a Pokémon announce the day’s weather. It is also the only Pokémon Center with no emblem of its own: where every other Center has a drawn medallion, this one has a plain wordmark, and the official site publishes no logo file for it at all.

Emblem Ho-Oh. The shop is themed on Johto, the game region modeled on Kansai, and its opening campaign was called Okoshiyasu Johto, using the Kyoto word for welcome.
Pokémon Center OSAKA DX ポケモンセンターオーサカDX
Emblem Fuecoco and Meowth. Meowth has been on an Osaka emblem since the first shop opened in 1998. Fuecoco arrived on December 14, 2023, when six shops each took a Paldea starter.

Emblem Koraidon. Announced together with Miraidon at Mega Tokyo on the day Scarlet and Violet launched, in November 2022, one shop for each of the pair.
Floors 10 to 16 of the former Daimaru Umeda building reopened as LUCUA SOUTH on April 5, 2026. The shop stayed on the 13th floor.
Chūgoku
Pokémon Center HIROSHIMA ポケモンセンターヒロシマ
Emblem Shiny Gyarados. Never explained. Japanese reporters at both the 2015 opening and the 2025 move read the red Gyarados as a nod to the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, and there is an official Carp collaboration.
The entrance is built as a waterfall basin, with a life-size shiny Gyarados.
Shikoku
Pokémon Center KAGAWA ポケモンセンターカガワ
Emblem Slowpoke. Kagawa appointed Slowpoke to its Udon Prefecture PR team in December 2018, because Yadon, its Japanese name, sounds like udon.

The only Pokémon Store ever promoted to Pokémon Center, moving from the 4th floor to the 1st of the same mall.
Closed
Pokémon Center NEW YORK
The first Pokémon Center outside Japan: two floors, about 1,200 m², an overhead conveyor of life-size Pokémon, and Gotta Catch ’em All Stations that loaded event Pokémon onto Game Boy cartridges. The PCNY promo cards collectors still hunt were handed out separately. It became the Nintendo World Store in May 2005.
Pokémon Center Paris
Eighteen days, and the only shop in France to carry the Pokémon Center name. The Pokémon Company’s own announcement names it "the Pokémon Center Paris" six times. It was the first place to give out the Poké Ball pattern Vivillon, and was rationing plush to one per person by the second day.
Pokémon Center London
Four weeks, for the launch of Sword and Shield, and explicitly a tribute to the country that inspired Galar. Queues ran four to five hours, the queue was closed as early as 2 p.m. on some days, and buyers were held to six items, later five.

Japan: 18 Centers and 5 Pokémon Stores
Tokyo itself has four Centers: MEGA TOKYO in Ikebukuro, TOKYO DX in Nihonbashi, SHIBUYA and SKYTREE TOWN. Greater Tokyo adds TOKYO-BAY in Funabashi and two in Yokohama. The other eleven are in Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Osaka (two), Hiroshima, Takamatsu, Fukuoka and Okinawa. The map above gives the location, hours and emblem (where there is one) of each.
Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO, in Sunshine City, descends from the very first Pokémon Center, opened in Nihonbashi in April 1998: it moved to Hamamatsuchō in July 2007, then to Ikebukuro under its new name in December 2014. It was closed from March 26, 2026, the day a member of its staff was killed in an attack in the shop, and reopened on August 24, 2026 after a partial refit. Pokémon Center TOKYO DX, back in Nihonbashi since March 14, 2018, is a separate shop, and the first with a Pokémon Café beside it.

The company calls them casual shops: they carry a selection of the Center range, and the card-game lessons and battles held in Centers are not offered there. The five are at New Chitose Airport (Hokkaido), Tokyo Station (First Avenue, ground floor), Narita Airport (Terminal 1, South Wing, fourth floor, before security), the Mitsui Outlet Park in Kisarazu and Gotemba Premium Outlets.

Pokémon Center SINGAPORE
Jewel Changi Airport, level 4 (78 Airport Boulevard, #04-201/202/203), open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. It opened on April 17, 2019 as the first permanent Pokémon Center in Asia outside Japan; New York, open from 2001 to 2005, was the first outside Japan. Jewel is on the public side of the airport, linked directly to Terminal 1 and by footbridges to Terminals 2 and 3, so you need no boarding pass, but passengers in transit must clear immigration to reach it.
It closed from April 1 to June 30, 2026 for the first full renovation of a Pokémon Center outside Japan, and reopened on July 1, 2026 with a design drawn from Singapore's heritage. Its emblem now shows Solgaleo; from 2019 it showed Lapras and Celebi.

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Place A11, third floor (No. 11, Songshou Road, Xinyi District), about three minutes' walk from exit 3 of Taipei City Hall MRT station. It opened on December 8, 2023, the second permanent Center in Asia outside Japan, and is open from 11:00 to 21:30, to 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Its emblem is Dragonite, a choice the company did not explain when it announced the shop.
Pokémon Center BANGKOK, December 2026
centralwOrld, level 6, unit C604/2, Ratchadamri Road; the nearest station is Chit Lom, on the BTS Sukhumvit line. It opens in December 2026; the exact day had not been announced as of September 24, 2026. It will open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, following the mall's hours. Its emblem pairs Pikachu with Shaymin, and the company has said there will be no promo card to mark the opening.
Temporary and closed Pokémon Centers
The Pokémon Company also opens Pokémon Centers for a few weeks or months. Outside Japan, three are running or announced as of September 24, 2026:
- Kuala Lumpur: Ombak KLCC, level 3, September 12 to December 31, 2026, daily 10:00 to 22:00, beside an official Nintendo pop-up.
- Manila: SM Mall of Asia, October 2026 to January 2027.
- Hong Kong: Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, from November 2026; the day had not been announced.
Japan has had its own touring format since summer 2025, the Pokémon Center Temporary Store, which sets up in malls, airports and stadiums, aimed at regions with no Center nearby.
At the World Championships
A Pokémon Center pop-up also opens for the few days of the World Championships and of some International Championships. Access has tightened. At Worlds 2025 in Anaheim the store needed a reservation but no tournament badge. At Worlds 2026 in San Francisco it was open only to registered PokémonXP and Worlds attendees, who were invited to book a slot in early August. Nothing had been published about a store at Worlds 2027 in Singapore as of September 24, 2026; our Worlds 2027 guide follows what gets announced.
Pokémon Center NEW YORK, closed
It opened on November 16, 2001 at 10 Rockefeller Plaza: two floors and about 13,000 square feet, life-size Pokémon circling the ceiling on a track, and Gotta Catch 'em All Stations that loaded event Pokémon onto Game Boy cartridges (their trainer names read PCNYb, PCNYc or PCNYd). It closed in January 2005 and reopened that May as the Nintendo World Store, which became Nintendo New York in 2016. It is the only permanent Pokémon Center the United States has had, and its promo cards are in our guide to Pokémon Center promo cards.
Pokémon Center Paris
Crémerie de Paris, 11-15 rue des Halles, June 4 to 21, 2014. It was the first place anywhere to give out the Poké Ball pattern Vivillon to Pokémon X and Y players, and it rationed plush to one per person within two days of opening.

Westfield London, October 18 to November 15, 2019, for the launch of Pokémon Sword and Shield. Queues ran four to five hours, the shop cut its opening hours, and purchases were capped at six items per person, then five.

Seven countries have a Pokémon Center online store. Each ships only at home, with one exception: the Australian and New Zealand stores share one delivery area covering both countries.

The American, Canadian and British stores are run by The Pokémon Company International; the German, Australian and New Zealand ones name Global-E, not Pokémon, as the seller of record (for Germany, Global-E U.K. Limited, a British company).

The Nintendo confusion has a reason: Nintendo TOKYO opened on November 22, 2019, the same day and on the same floor of Shibuya PARCO as Pokémon Center SHIBUYA, and Nintendo OSAKA shares the 13th floor of LUCUA SOUTH with Pokémon Center OSAKA. They are neighbors, run by different companies.
Closures: Centers move, Stores close
No permanent Pokémon Center in Japan has closed without a successor since 1998. Every closure has been a move, often to a bigger space: Tokyo moved twice, Nagoya three times, Fukuoka and Sendai twice each, and OKINAWA upgraded a Pokémon Store into a Center in 2022. Pokémon Stores do close: seven shut in 2021 alone, five of them in airports or station buildings. Outside Japan, New York is the only permanent Center that has closed.
Shopping in a Center in Japan
Tax-free shopping changes on November 1, 2026
Until October 31, 2026, a tax-free shop deducts Japan's consumption tax (10%, or 8% on food) at the till. From November 1, 2026, you pay the full price and get the tax refunded when you leave Japan, once customs has confirmed, at the airport before check-in, that the goods are leaving with you. The split between general goods and consumables goes, and with it the 500,000 yen cap on consumables and the sealed-bag rule. The threshold stays: at least 5,000 yen before tax, in one shop, on one day. Bring your passport.
Paying, holds and returns
Centers take credit cards, QR code payments and Japanese transit IC cards; the accepted brands vary by shop. They do not hold items. Unopened, unused goods can be returned or exchanged within 14 days at the shop where you bought them, with the receipt. Some items carry quantity limits, and the company does not announce restock dates.
Crowds and new card sets
On busy days a shop may hand out numbered tickets or restrict entry. Each shop's page on the official shop site has an English version with hours and directions, but the notices about tickets, closures and lotteries are posted in Japanese only. New card sets can be hard to get: at MEGA TOKYO, the 30th CELEBRATION packs released on September 16, 2026 went on sale only by advance lottery, entered through LINE (up to 10 packs each), for the release week and again for September 24 to 30. Is there a Pokémon Center in the United States?
Not a permanent one as of September 24, 2026. New York had one at 10 Rockefeller Plaza from 2001 to 2005, now Nintendo New York, and Pokémon Center pop-ups have opened at the World Championships and at the North America International Championships. The US Pokémon Center online store delivers across the country.
Is there a Pokémon Center in Europe?
No permanent one. Paris in 2014 and London in 2019 had temporary Pokémon Centers for a few weeks, and a Pokémon Center pop-up opened at the 2024 Europe International Championships in London. The United Kingdom and Germany have Pokémon Center online stores, each delivering only at home.
Is there a Pokémon Center in South Korea?
No. Pokémon Korea runs an official online shop, Pokémon Store Online, and official pop-up stores several times a year, none of them called a Pokémon Center.
Can I order from Pokémon Center Online in Japan from abroad?
No. Pokémon Center Online delivers to addresses in Japan only, so buyers abroad go through a forwarding or proxy service, at their own risk.
How many Pokémon Centers are in Tokyo?
Four in Tokyo itself: MEGA TOKYO, TOKYO DX, SHIBUYA and SKYTREE TOWN. Greater Tokyo adds TOKYO-BAY in Funabashi and two in Yokohama, plus Pokémon Stores at Tokyo Station, Narita Airport and Kisarazu. Our Tokyo guide plans a trip around them.
