Pokémon in Tokyo: Every Official Center, Café, PokéPark and Poké Lid (Map, 2026)

Tokyo has four Pokémon Centers (MEGA TOKYO in Ikebukuro, TOKYO DX in Nihonbashi, SHIBUYA and SKYTREE TOWN), one Pokémon Store at Tokyo Station, the Pokémon Café and PokéPark KANTO, the outdoor park that opened in February 2026. Three more Centers are half an hour or so from Tokyo station: two in Yokohama and TOKYO-BAY in Funabashi, Chiba.

Two places must be booked well in advance. The Pokémon Café releases a whole month of seats online at once, at 18:00 Japan time on the 1st of the month before: November 2026 opens on October 1. PokéPark sells by lottery three months ahead: from outside Japan you apply on the park's English ticket site with each visitor's passport number, while the Japanese site needs a Japanese phone. The Centers, the Store and most of the rest are walk-in. All details are as of September 24, 2026.

The map shows 69 official Pokémon places in Greater Tokyo, with hours and directions (official places only, so no independent card shops): 53 inside the prefecture, among them 13 Poké Lids and 18 vending-machine sites, and 16 in Yokohama, Kawasaki and Chiba.

The map is a visual aid. Every place on it is also listed below, as a button that recentres the map and a link to directions.

  • Nihonbashi: TOKYO DX and the Pokémon Café, booked ahead, with the free Legend Research statues in the streets nearby until November 29, 2026.

  • The two Poké Lids in Ueno Park, on the way to anything else in Ueno.
  • TOKYO LUMINOUS NIGHT, a free Pokémon Card Game projection in Shinjuku, on weekend and holiday evenings.
  • Your airport: the Pokémon Store in Narita's Terminal 1, or the Pokémon vending machines at Haneda, three of them airside.
  • A MIMARU Pokémon Room, if there are four to six of you.

Four Centers in one day

A map of central Tokyo showing only the four Pokémon Centers, the Pokémon Store and the two cafés, from Ikebukuro in the north-west to Oshiage in the east and Shibuya in the south-west.The loop, with the map filtered to the shops and cafés: Ikebukuro, Tokyo station and Nihonbashi, Oshiage, then Shibuya.

The four Centers fit in one day on Tokyo Metro lines. Start at Ikebukuro when MEGA TOKYO opens at 10:00, take the Marunouchi line to Tokyo station for the Store, then walk five minutes to TOKYO DX and, if you booked, the Café. A short walk north, at Mitsukoshimae, the Hanzōmon line runs to Oshiage for SKYTREE TOWN, then across the city to Shibuya in about half an hour: PARCO's sixth floor is open until 21:00, the Card Lounge until 22:30. Allow nine hours and a Tokyo Metro 24-hour ticket, and go on a weekday: weekends and card release days bring numbered tickets and lotteries.

The four Centers and the GO Lab. are also five of the 18 PokéStops of the Pokémon Center Stamp Rally 2026 in Pokémon GO, which runs until August 31, 2027: three stamps earn a certificate at any Center, all 18 a completion certificate.

Pokémon Café: how booking works

Pokémon Café TOKYO, beside TOKYO DX, is a sit-down restaurant open 10:30 to 21:00. Since reopening after a refit on June 17, 2026, it runs on reservations, with a show in which Pikachu makes a parfait with the guests. Walk-ins get a seat only when someone cancels that day; the goods counter needs no booking.

PokéPark KANTO: tickets from abroad, and from Japan

PokéPark KANTO, the first permanent outdoor Pokémon park, opened on February 5, 2026 inside the Yomiuriland amusement park: about 2.6 hectares with more than 600 Pokémon figures, split between Pokémon Forest, a walk of about 500 meters through wooded hillside, and Sedge Town, which has a Gym show, shops and two rides. Every pass includes Yomiuriland, and none is sold at the gate.

Prices vary by date: on October and November 2026 dates, adults pay 4,700, 5,000 or 5,500 yen for the Town Pass, 7,900, 8,500 or 9,400 for the Trainer's Pass and 14,000, 15,000 or 16,500 for the Ace Trainer's Pass (the Elite Trainer's Pass on the Japanese site). Under-3s enter Sedge Town free.

  • Pokémon Forest has a 110-step staircase. Children under 5 cannot go in, even carried, nor can anyone who cannot climb the steps unaided, or pregnant visitors; a stairlift reaches only the gently sloping first stretch. The Forest has no restrooms. Anyone who cannot go in needs only a Town Pass.
  • Three things need a second, free ticket from the park's app, requested inside the Yomiuriland gate (from 10:45 from October 2026): the Pokémon Daisuki Shop, the Pokémon Playhouse and the Sedge Gym Show (Gym Show seats by draw, the others first come). The two rides cost 1,200 yen an adult and 800 a child each, at a kiosk in Sedge Town.
  • Cash does not work inside: cards, IC cards and QR payments only. There is no luggage storage, so use Yomiuriland's coin lockers; strollers and wheelchairs are rented at Yomiuriland's Sky Gate entrance, 500 yen, first come, first served.
  • Getting there: the Keiō line from Shinjuku to Keiō-Yomiuriland, about 25 minutes, then the Sky Shuttle gondola, as Yomiuriland recommends; or the Odakyu line to Yomiuriland-mae and a bus. Allow about 2 hours from Haneda, 2.5 from Narita.
  • Check the calendar before you apply: open 11:00 to 19:00 on the October and November 2026 dates checked, closed on some weekdays (most Wednesdays and Thursdays in October), open in the rain.

The first PokéPark, in Nagoya in 2005, handed out a card at each ride; those cards are in our PokéPark card catalog.

Hours as the official shop pages gave them on September 24, 2026. On busy days a shop may hand out numbered tickets.

A Pokémon Store is the smaller format: a selection of the Center range, no emblem and no card-game events. Our guide to every Pokémon Center in the world covers Japan's other eleven and the two abroad.

The Store moved from the basement to the ground floor of Tokyo Station First Avenue on July 10, 2024, into a unit about 3.6 times the size, so directions to B1F are out of date.

TOKYO-BAY is in Funabashi, Chiba, and holds the first Pokémon Card Station, opened in September 2017. Yokohama, 25 minutes from Tokyo station on the JR Tōkaidō line, has two Centers: the main one on the eighth floor of the Yokohama Sky Building (older directions say Marui City Yokohama, the mall there that closed on February 28, 2026), and, since April 9, 2026, the smaller Satellite, straight off the Sotetsu line's ticket gates in Joinus.

Flying home? Narita's Pokémon Store has been in Terminal 1 since January 27, 2025, before security, and sells a Pilot Pikachu and a flight attendant Pikachu in Narita uniform (2,640 yen each at the 2025 reopening). Haneda has no Pokémon Store (the shop at Haneda Airport Garden in early 2025 was a pop-up). Its official outlets are vending machines, where Haneda-only Pilot and flight attendant Pikachu went on sale in 2018; the Terminal 3 machines are airside, at gates G107 and G147, and stock changes without notice.

Each of the four Tokyo Centers marked its opening with a promo card, listed with the rest in our catalog of Pokémon Center promo cards.

The opening promos of Tokyo's Centers: Mega Tokyo's Pikachu (December 2014), a Shiny Rayquaza for SKYTREE TOWN (July 2016), four costumed Pikachu for TOKYO DX (2018) and Shibuya's Pikachu (2019).

Ikebukuro: four official venues on one floor

Sunshine City's Alpa mall, three minutes from Higashi-Ikebukuro station and eight from Ikebukuro, holds Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO and three more official venues on its second floor. MEGA TOKYO and Pikachu Sweets were closed from March 26, 2026, the day a member of staff was killed in an attack in the shop, and reopened on August 24, 2026 after a partial refit.

  • Pokémon Card Station MEGA TOKYO, Tokyo's only Card Station (Japan has eight): casual play tables, card-game classes for children, and events that need a free Players Club account.
  • Pokémon GO Lab., an official Pokémon GO space: an in-game Gym rendered as media art by the studio Rhizomatiks, life-size Professor Willow and the team leaders, and regular trade meet-ups and raid battles.
  • Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Café, the no-booking sweets counter.

Shibuya: PARCO's sixth floor, and a card lounge until 22:30

Pokémon Center SHIBUYA, Nintendo TOKYO and the Pokémon Design Lab share the sixth floor of Shibuya PARCO, which opens at 10:00, an hour before the rest of the building. Before 11:00 you go up a designated staircase, open from 09:30; the escalators and elevators down from the sixth floor start only around 11:15, so leave by the stairs before then.

The Design Lab, found only at this Center, prints a T-shirt you design yourself on a screen, ready about an hour after you finish. On busy dates it runs on a LINE lottery instead of same-day tickets, and it can stop taking orders altogether, as announced for September 26 and 27, 2026.

The Pokémon Card Lounge, five minutes away on the fifth floor of SHIBUYA TSUTAYA over the scramble crossing, is a paid play lounge announced by The Pokémon Company and run by CCC, the Tsutaya group: 82 seats, 1,650 yen for the first hour, then 660 yen per 30 minutes up to a 6,600 yen cap, decks lent free. It is cashless, open 10:00 to 22:30 (last entry 21:30), and bookable up to 30 days ahead, or walk in when seats are free. As a registered Pokémon Card Gym, it holds Gym Battle events, whose participants get a 30th promo card pack until January 31, 2027.

Shopping: exclusives, tax-free and new card sets

Most Centers add goods built around their own emblem Pokémon, a reason to visit more than one; the Tokyo Station Store has stationmaster Pikachu goods.

Tax-free shopping changes on November 1, 2026. Until October 31, the 10% consumption tax (8% on food) comes off at the register; from November 1, you pay the full price and the tax is refunded when you leave Japan. The threshold stays at 5,000 yen before tax, in one shop, on one day. Bring your passport.

New card sets are hard to buy at release. MEGA TOKYO sold the 30th CELEBRATION packs of September 16, 2026 by LINE lottery only, up to 10 packs each, with no general sale during the lottery weeks; the second round's winners buy from September 24 to 30. Our comparison of Japanese and English cards covers which Japanese cards are worth buying there.

Poké Lids: 13 in Tokyo, two within easy reach

Poké Lids are cast-iron manhole covers with Pokémon art, given by The Pokémon Company to the towns they stand in. Tokyo has 13, but six are in one park in Machida, four are on Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands and one is inside PokéPark. That leaves two in central Tokyo, both in Ueno Park: Tyrunt with Wynaut, and Baltoy with Bronzor.

The Machida six, the first-generation set, are in Serigaya Park, about half an hour from Shinjuku on the Odakyu line and a walk from Machida station. The Ogasawara four are on Chichijima, legally Tokyo but 1,000 kilometers south: no airport, only a 24-hour ferry from Takeshiba Pier, roughly once every six days.

Yokohama has five, all with Pikachu, in and around Minato Mirai: Pikachu outside Sakuragichō station, then Pikachu with Raichu, with Pelipper, with Victini and Munchlax, and with Psyduck and Machop. The city also has three Pokémon mailboxes, working Japan Post boxes topped with Pikachu, Eevee and Piplup, two at City Hall by exit 1a of Bashamichi station and one at Yokohama Sakuragi post office, until June 30, 2027.

Vending machines: 24 in Tokyo, mostly in stations

The Pokémon Stand sells Pokémon Center goods (16 in Japan, 9 in Tokyo) and the Pokémon Card Stand sells cards (31 in Japan, 15 in Tokyo), on the official list of August 3, 2026. Tokyo's 24 machines stand at 18 venues in railway stations and at Haneda. Seven are inside ticket gates or on platforms, so you need a fare, and three are airside at Haneda; among the easiest to reach are those under Ikebukuro station's west side and in Haneda's public halls.

What is on in fall 2026

Sleeping in a Pokémon room

The apartment-hotel chain MIMARU has a Pokémon Room at five Tokyo properties, Ikebukuro, Kinshichō, Ueno East, Ginza East and Hatchōbori, all on the map. The chain's Pokémon Rooms take four to six people in 38 to 60 square meters, with a giant Snorlax on the bed, about 100 Pokémon around the room and a set of goods with each booking.

FAQ

How many Pokémon Centers are in Tokyo?

Four in Tokyo itself: MEGA TOKYO, TOKYO DX, SHIBUYA and SKYTREE TOWN. Greater Tokyo adds TOKYO-BAY in Funabashi and two in Yokohama, plus Pokémon Stores at Tokyo Station, Narita Airport and Kisarazu.

Which Pokémon Center in Tokyo is the biggest?

By the areas published at opening, TOKYO DX in Nihonbashi, at about 1,300 square meters with its café. MEGA TOKYO in Ikebukuro opened with about 700 square meters of shop floor.

Can you go to the Pokémon Café without a reservation?

Only for a seat someone has canceled that day. The café's goods counter needs no booking, and neither does Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Café in Ikebukuro.

How do you get PokéPark KANTO tickets from outside Japan?

Apply on the park's English ticket site between the 1st and the 12th of a month, for dates three months ahead, with a passport number for each visitor. Winners hear around the end of the month and pay by its last day; no tickets are sold at the park.

Is there a Pokémon Store at Haneda Airport?

No. Haneda has Pokémon Stand and Pokémon Card Stand vending machines, three of them airside. The airport Pokémon Store in Greater Tokyo is at Narita, Terminal 1, South Wing 4F, before security.

Do the Pokémon Centers in Tokyo sell Pokémon cards?

Yes, Japanese cards, but a new set can be lottery-only in its release weeks, as the 30th CELEBRATION packs were at MEGA TOKYO in September 2026.
