Dragon Blade

Series: Black & White Series

Release date: March 16, 2012

Cards: 50 (5 secret)

Set code: BW5

Garchomp and Altaria became Dragon type cards for the first time in this pack, neither of them having appeared in the twenty card set that opened the type in January. The change left a visible seam: Swablu is printed at 044 as a Colorless Pokémon while the Altaria it evolves into sits at 036 as a Dragon, so one evolution line runs across two types inside a single expansion. Tool Scrapper appears at 048, discarding up to two Pokémon Tools attached to Pokémon anywhere on the table, and Giant Cape follows it. Ho-Oh-EX, Registeel-EX and Rayquaza-EX are the three Pokémon-EX, each printed twice. The two Ultra Rares are recoloured reprints, a blue Serperior from the first pack of the era and a Krookodile from Dark Rush. Dragon Blade (BW5) was released on March 16, 2012 in the Black & White series, with 50 cards plus 5 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Rayquaza EX #53 (Super Rare), at $296.98 (median of 5 sales over 90 days, October 1, 2026).
