Black Collection

Series: Black & White Series

Release date: December 17, 2010

Cards: 53 (3 secret)

Set code: BW1

Japan restarted its card game with this expansion, and the redesign shows before a single card is read: the Japanese border turned grey, the Pokédex entry moved into a frame at the bottom right, and the booster pack shrank from eleven cards to five. Abilities arrived at the same time, folding the old Poké-POWER and Poké-BODY into one keyword. The contents are Unova almost throughout, with the Tepig line, Reshiram at 013 and again as a Super Rare at 055, and Tornadus taking the other full art slot. Professor Juniper's first card closes the numbered list at 053. The Western cut of this material does not follow the Japanese one, because Black & White took the pick of the two halves and the leftovers went into Emerging Powers, an English expansion with no Japanese counterpart of its own. Black Collection (BW1) was released on December 17, 2010 in the Black & White series, with 53 cards plus 3 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Reshiram #55 (Super Rare), at $94.41 (median of 5 sales over 90 days, September 30, 2026).
