Red Collection

Series: Black & White Series

Release date: July 15, 2011

Cards: 66 (6 secret)

Set code: BW2

Fossils were rebuilt for this expansion, and the new rule is an odd one: a Restored Pokémon cannot be played from the hand at all, so you play the matching Fossil Item, search the bottom seven cards of your deck, and put the creature straight onto your Bench. Tirtouga and Archen are the two lines written that way, and N enters the game here as well. Rocky Helmet and Eviolite are the other lasting additions, both Pokémon Tools that blunt an attack rather than power one. Six cards run past the printed count, five of them full arts and one an Ultra Rare. The Swords of Justice take three of those six, each of them also printed inside the count, and the odd one out is the Meowth that closes the set at 072, the only one of the six the set gives nowhere else. One point of manufacture separates the pack from most of its neighbours, because Japan printed it as a 1st Edition and never issued an unlimited run. Red Collection (BW2) was released on July 15, 2011 in the Black & White series, with 66 cards plus 6 secret rares. Its most expensive card is N (1st Edition) #71 (Super Rare), at $175.55 (median of 6 sales over 90 days, October 1, 2026).
