Phantom Forces

Series: XY

Release date: November 5, 2014

Cards: 119 (5 secret)

Set code: XY4

Spirit Link Pokémon Tools appear for the first time in this expansion, and they exist to cancel one rule: a Pokémon holding the matching Spirit Link no longer ends its owner's turn when it Mega Evolves. Two were printed, one for Gengar and one for Manectric, the pair of Mega Evolutions the set is built on. Team Flare fills much of the rest, supplying Supporter cards, a run of Items called Team Flare Gear, and two Hyper Gear Tools that attach to the opponent's Pokémon instead of your own. Gengar itself takes four slots, an ordinary Pokémon-EX by Eske Yoshinob, a Full Art by Ryo Ueda and two Mega prints, the second of those among the three cards numbered past the end of the list. Japan had the same cards in September 2014 under the name Phantom Gate. Burning Winds and Bolt Twister were the theme decks sold beside the boosters. Phantom Forces (XY4) was released on November 5, 2014 in the XY series, with 119 cards plus 5 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Dialga EX #122 (Secret Rare), at $403.96 (median of 5 sales over 7 days, October 2, 2026). A sealed booster box sells for $16,919.95 (median of 7 sales over 90 days, September 25, 2026).
