XY

Series: XY

Release date: February 5, 2014

Cards: 146

Set code: XY1

Mega Evolution enters the card game with this expansion. An M Pokémon-EX evolves from its matching Pokémon-EX, carries a single attack, and ends your turn the moment it arrives, so the extra power costs a full turn of tempo. Venusaur and Blastoise are the only two given the treatment here, and their attack names are painted across the artwork rather than set in a box, in English on the Japanese and Korean cards and in Japanese on everyone else's. Dragon Pokémon become weak to Fairy from this expansion onward, the type itself having arrived three months earlier in the Kalos Starter Set. Emolga-EX and Skarmory-EX join Venusaur, Blastoise, Xerneas and Yveltal in the full frame block that ends the list. XY (XY1) was released on February 5, 2014 in the XY series, with 146 cards. Its most expensive card is Blastoise EX #142 (Ultra Rare), at $71.50 (median of 15 sales over 30 days, October 1, 2026). A sealed booster box sells for $2,564.95 (median of 23 sales over 30 days, September 25, 2026).
