Brilliant Stars

Series: Sword & Shield

Release date: February 25, 2022

Cards: 172 (44 secret)

Set code: SWSH09

Pokémon VSTAR begins here, evolving from a Pokémon V of the same species and carrying a VSTAR Power a player may use once in a game. That power is sometimes an attack and sometimes an Ability, and every one of them has Star somewhere in its name. Arceus VSTAR is the centre of the expansion, with Charizard, Shaymin and Whimsicott following it. Packs came with either a redrawn basic Energy or a marker card a player could flip to show the power had been spent. The Trainer Gallery starts here as well, thirty cards numbered TG01 to TG30 that each pair a Pokémon with a Trainer, and the three main expansions after it printed one of their own. Charizard V by Ryota Murayama is the alternate art the set is known for, with Arceus V by kawayoo close behind. Brilliant Stars (SWSH09) was released on February 25, 2022 in the Sword & Shield series, with 172 cards plus 44 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Charizard V #154 (Ultra Rare), at $235.31 (median of 8 sales over 7 days, September 30, 2026). A sealed booster box sells for $522.75 (median of 16 sales over 7 days, September 25, 2026).
