Shining Fates

Series: Sword & Shield

Release date: February 19, 2021

Cards: 72 (123 secret)

Set code: SWSH4.5

A vault of Shiny cards is the point of this special expansion, 122 of them carrying an SV number and an embossed finish. Shiny Pokémon V there reuse the painting of their earlier Full Art, while the ordinary Shiny cards were given new artwork. One vault card can take the place of the reverse holo in a pack, which is the only way into the subset. The main list is short and holds three Amazing Pokémon, Reshiram, Kyogre and Yveltal, a class Vivid Voltage had introduced three months earlier. Crobat V, Ditto V and the Cinderace pair sit among the Pokémon V, and the Shiny Charizard VMAX at SV107 is the card the set gets bought for. Even the name is borrowed, made of words taken from Shining Legends and Hidden Fates, two earlier sets built on the same idea. Shining Fates (SWSH4.5) was released on February 19, 2021 in the Sword & Shield series, with 72 cards plus 123 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Skyla #72 (Ultra Rare), at $11.72 (median of 41 sales over 30 days, September 29, 2026).
