Evolving Skies

Series: Sword & Shield

Release date: August 27, 2021

Cards: 203 (34 secret)

Set code: SWSH07

Dragon Pokémon come back to the game here after nearly two years away, and because the Fairy type had been retired in the meantime they now carry no Weakness at all. Those cards carry their own markings too, claw marks in the top right corner and a gold panel beside the Weakness box. Rayquaza and Duraludon lead that half of the set as both Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, the second of them in its Gigantamax form. Every Eeveelution turns up as a Pokémon V, and several return again as VMAX and in alternate art. Among those is the Umbreon VMAX at 215, wrapped around a clock tower under a full moon, which collectors took to calling Moonbreon. The English release is an assembly rather than a translation, built from the Japanese Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream, part of the Eevee Heroes subset, and cards left behind by three earlier expansions. Evolving Skies (SWSH07) was released on August 27, 2021 in the Sword & Shield series, with 203 cards plus 34 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Umbreon VMAX #215 (Secret Rare), at $1,906.88 (median of 7 sales over 7 days, September 24, 2026). A sealed booster box sells for $2,185.69 (median of 26 sales over 7 days, September 25, 2026).
