Split Earth

Series: E-series

Release date: August 23, 2002

Cards: 88 (3 secret)

Set code: SPE

Every rare in this expansion was printed twice, plain and then foiled at the next number up, so its sixteen holos bring no new paintings with them. Three cards sit past the printed count of 088: Golem, Kabutops and Ho-Oh, all Colorless, each carrying a Poké-BODY that turns it into whichever of three types you attach Energy for. Japan calls that line Neutral Pokémon, and this was its second batch, after Wind from the Sea earlier the same year. Four of the Eevee evolutions run through the doubled rare block, Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon and Umbreon. The Trainer end brought the Mystery Plate Technical Machines, the Crystal Shard and Star Piece tools, and a pair of Stadiums. Wizards of the Coast folded this pack and the next one into a single English release, Skyridge, the last set it made before losing the licence. Split Earth (SPE) was released on August 23, 2002 in the E-series, with 88 cards plus 3 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Umbreon (1st Edition) #72 (Rare Holo), at $649.39 (median of 5 sales over 30 days, June 6, 2026).
