Next Destinies

Series: Black & White

Release date: February 8, 2012

Cards: 99 (4 secret)

Set code: BW4

Pokémon-EX return here under a new rule: every one of them is a Basic Pokémon, and knocking one out hands the opponent two Prize cards instead of one. The Full Art print, introduced a year earlier with Black & White, is turned on them for the first time, artwork running to all four edges over an etched surface. Secret cards change subject at the same moment and start showing Shiny Pokémon, four of them here, each a recolour of a card printed earlier in the series. Japan split the material across two packs, Psycho Drive and Hail Blizzard, and the English set folds the Reshiram-EX and Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Decks in on top. Mewtwo-EX at 98 is one of several Pokémon in the list from outside Unova. Most of the ordinary illustrations share a single setting, Castelia City: Vanillite at the Casteliacone counter, Simisear outside the Pokémon Center, Lapras under Skyarrow Bridge and Grimer down in the sewers that Black 2 and White 2 would later open. Next Destinies (BW4) was released on February 8, 2012 in the Black & White series, with 99 cards plus 4 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Chandelure #101 (Secret Rare), at $177.07 (median of 11 sales over 90 days, October 1, 2026).
