Dragon Vault

Series: Black & White

Release date: October 5, 2012

Cards: 20 (1 secret)

Set code: DV1

Twenty one cards, every one of them foil, and not a single one sold in an ordinary booster box. Packs held five cards and reached shops only inside blisters. The official site treated the release as a series of its own for a while, with this as the only entry in it, before folding it into Black & White the following spring. First Ticket at 19 lets a player skip the coin flip and take the first turn outright, and a later ruling change left it an orphaned card, one whose text no longer has anything to act on. Seventeen of the twenty numbered cards are Dragon Pokémon, running from the Dratini and Bagon lines up to Latias, Latios, Salamence, Haxorus and Rayquaza. Japan sold it in January 2012 as Dragon Selection, the first subset of the BW Era, so the type reached players there before the two Dragon packs rather than after them. Dragon Vault (DV1) was released on October 5, 2012 in the Black & White series, with 20 cards plus 1 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Kyurem #21 (Common), at $59.76 (median of 5 sales over 90 days, October 1, 2026).
