Plasma Storm

Series: Black & White

Release date: February 6, 2013

Cards: 135 (3 secret)

Set code: BW8

Team Plasma reaches the card game here, and the group gets a livery of its own rather than a symbol in a corner. Their cards run a blue border, unique to the prints made outside Japan, over a blue artwork window, with a Team Plasma bar under the HP and the group's shield printed inside the attack box. Plasma Energy arrives with them at 127, a Special Energy that provides Colorless and that several Team Plasma attacks check for before they count anything. Three more ACE SPEC cards follow the four from Boundaries Crossed: Dowsing Machine, Scramble Switch and Victory Piece. Moltres-EX, Articuno-EX, Zapdos-EX and Lugia-EX carry the group's mark among the set's Pokémon-EX, and Colress closes the numbered list at 135. The order slipped in one place, with Whismur, Loudred and Exploud printed ahead of Lugia despite their higher Pokédex numbers. Plasma Storm (BW8) was released on February 6, 2013 in the Black & White series, with 135 cards plus 3 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Lugia EX #134 (Ultra Rare), at $1,248.68 (median of 5 sales over 7 days, September 30, 2026).
