Darkness, and to Light...

Series: Neo Series

Release date: April 20, 2001

Cards: 113

Set code: NEO4

Two opposed families of card give this expansion its name. Light Pokémon appear here and then vanish from the game for two decades, always an evolved form, printed with a white and gold artwork window, carrying more HP than usual and attacks that help as often as they hurt. Facing them are the Dark Pokémon that Team Rocket had already brought in. Eight Shining Pokémon close the list, Celebi, Charizard, Kabutops, Mewtwo, Noctowl, Raichu, Steelix and Tyranitar, and the treatment shifted for them, the foil moving onto the body while the background stayed flat. Only one copy of any single Shining card may go in a deck, and the Japanese print states that along the top edge, above the name. This was the fourth and last set of the neo era, and the game switched to the VS format three months after it. Darkness, and to Light... (NEO4) was released on April 20, 2001 in the Neo series, with 113 cards. Its most expensive card is Shining Mewtwo No. 150 (Rare Holo).
