Paldean Fates

Series: Scarlet & Violet

Release date: January 26, 2024

Cards: 91 (154 secret)

Set code: SV4.5

Packs of this expansion were never sold on their own in the West, only inside the boxed products built around it, so the way in was an Elite Trainer Box, a booster bundle, one of the premium collections, one of the sticker collections or one of the tins. The shiny Pokémon ex are not new drawings: each takes the pose and the rendering of the full art print that card already had, repainted in its shiny colours. Japan sold the same material as High Class Pack Shiny Treasure ex, three hundred and sixty cards, the largest set ever printed there until Start Deck 100 Battle Collection passed it in December 2025. Six gold Pokémon ex close the numbering, and they carry a raised foil the game had not used before. The special illustrations that buyers go after are Mew ex by USGMEN, Gardevoir ex by Kuroimori and Charizard ex by AKIRA EGAWA. Whatever is not shiny here is either translation catch-up, or a straight reprint of a card the West already had, since the Japanese High Class Pack was itself built on reprints, the cards from Raging Surf, Ancient Roar, Future Flash and the Terastal Starter Sets that Paradox Rift had left behind. Paldean Fates (SV4.5) was released on January 26, 2024 in the Scarlet & Violet series, with 91 cards plus 154 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Mew ex #232 (Special illustration rare), at $777.70 (median of 37 sales over 30 days, September 30, 2026).

The effect rewards owning both, since it searches out one extra Pokémon for every Paldean Student already in the discard pile. Each print also has a full art version.
