FamilyMart has given out or sold 22 Pokémon cards: 12 in Japan between 2011 and 2017, and 10 in Taiwan in 2025. Four of the Japanese cards came from FamilyMart's side alone: Greninja 209/XY-P, given over the 2015-16 New Year for purchases of card packs or Lotte sweets, and the Rowlet and two logo-stamped Grass Energies of the December 2017 pack FamilyMart shared with Circle K and Sunkus, its sister chains since 2016, whose last stores had closed or become FamilyMarts by November 30, 2018. The other eight were shared with other convenience chains. In Taiwan, ten cards printed with the FamilyMart logo were given with purchases from May 28 to July 8, 2025. No FamilyMart card has followed in Japan since 2017, as of September 24, 2026.

Prices are medians of real completed sales in dollars, as of September 24, 2026. A card counts here when it came only through a named list of stores that includes FamilyMart, alone or shared; campaigns open to every card retailer in Japan are left out, as in our guides to 7-Eleven and Lawson cards.

2011: the Red Collection split

From July 15, 2011, buying four Red Collection packs at once earned one of four cards, chosen by store: Beartic 053/BW-P at Circle K Sunkus, Three F, FamilyMart, Ministop and Lawson; Zebstrika 054/BW-P at 7-Eleven; Gothitelle 055/BW-P at supermarkets such as AEON and Ito-Yokado and at the Pokémon Centers; Reuniclus 056/BW-P at electronics chains and other retailers.

The Red Collection launch cards: Beartic 053/BW-P went to FamilyMart and four other convenience chains, Zebstrika to 7-Eleven, Gothitelle to supermarkets and Pokémon Centers, Reuniclus to electronics chains and other retailers.

2015: Treecko and the Greninja

From January 30, 2015, spending 600 yen on card products earned a promo for the Double Crisis launch, a different starter by chain: Treecko 107/XY-P at FamilyMart, Circle K Sunkus, Coco Store, Daily Yamazaki and Ministop, Torchic 108/XY-P at 7-Eleven, Mudkip 109/XY-P at Lawson. In both campaigns that split a starter trio by chain, 2015 and 2017, FamilyMart got the Grass one.

From December 22, 2015 to January 4, 2016, FamilyMart stores gave Greninja 209/XY-P for every three eligible items bought at once: booster packs of Blue Shock, Red Flash or Rage of the Broken Heavens, or any of seven Lotte sweets, among them Pokémon wafers and gummies, while stocks lasted. It is an original holo illustrated by Sanosuke Sakuma, and the only Japanese promo given by FamilyMart alone.

2016 and 2017: the Special Sets

Small Special Sets, a holo promo with two packs, were split by chain. On December 9, 2016 and January 27, 2017, FamilyMart, Circle K Sunkus, Daily Yamazaki, Ministop, Lawson and the Pokémon Centers sold the sets with Pikachu 003/SM-P (385 yen) and Turtonator 022/SM-P (561 yen), while the Seven & i group got a Togedemaru and a Rockruff. Komala 043 (March 17), Alolan Vulpix 052 (April 21) and Charmander 060/SM-P (June 16, 2017) were sold at all six chains.

The Special Set promos sold at FamilyMart, 2016-2017: Pikachu 003, Turtonator 022, Komala 043, Alolan Vulpix 052 and Charmander 060/SM-P.

December 2017: the Grass pack and the fourth card

From December 8, 2017, the day the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon expansions came out, 7-Eleven, FamilyMart (with Circle K and Sunkus) and Lawson each gave a promo pack for every five booster packs bought at once, older series included, a different pack by chain. FamilyMart's pack held Pikachu 168/SM-P (shared by all three chains), Rowlet 169/SM-P, a Grass Energy 170/SM-P or a mirror Grass Energy 171/SM-P. Only the two Energies are branded: a white box at the bottom right of the art holds three logos, FamilyMart, Circle K and Sunkus.

The mirror Energies were a fourth card that was not announced at first. On December 12, 2017, four days into the campaign, the official campaign page (first published on November 2) still said each pack held one card out of three, at random; by February 11, 2018, that line read one card out of four. The fourth cards were the mirror Energies 171, 174 and 177. As of September 24, 2026, the page still pictures only three cards per chain and never calls the fourth a mirror card.

Since 2017: playmats and lotteries

FamilyMart's later Pokémon campaigns in Japan gave goods, not cards, among them a playmat for five Sword or Shield packs from December 6, 2019, and another for five Single Strike Master or Rapid Strike Master packs from January 22, 2021. The booster campaign of January 2023, which gave promo packs, excluded convenience stores; they sold a Scarlet ex and Violet ex Special Set instead, whose promo pack held the same cards as the starter sets.

From May 28 to July 8, 2025, FamilyMart Taiwan gave a white promo pack with one of ten cards for each receipt of NT$299 or more on eligible purchases across the store, one pack per receipt, while stocks lasted. The ten are Rowlet 231, Charmander 232, Squirtle 233, Wartortle 234, Blastoise ex 235, Pikachu 236, Wattrel 237, Slowpoke 238, Flamigo 239 and Togedemaru 240/SV-P, in Traditional Chinese, each with the FamilyMart logo at the right edge of the art. Toys "R" Us Taiwan gave its own logo cards, 242-246/SV-P, from June 20 to July 31, 2025.

How to get them today

The Japanese cards trade second-hand, mostly in Japan through card shops and auction sites; from abroad, a proxy service buys and forwards them, as our guide to buying Japanese cards from abroad explains. The Grass Energies are easy to check: 170 and 171/SM-P carry the three logos, while the Rowlet and the other cards here carry no FamilyMart mark, so the number is the check.

For new products, FamilyMart stores in Japan sell booster packs, and the chain's online shop has sold scarce ones by lottery. For the 30th Celebration Espeon and Umbreon deck set (6,200 yen), it took entries from June 8 to 21, 2026, and winners collect the set in store from October 2 to 15, 2026.
