About this card
Naoyo Kimura throws Articuno's wings across the full width of the frame and dives it straight at the viewer, over a ground that shifts from amber to deep blue. Japan had not seen this painting before: it was made for an English Wizards Black Star Promo given out in cinemas, and the Japanese promo Articuno of 1999 is a different card by a different artist. The Web printing also picks up a Metal Weakness that the English one does not carry. Pokémon Web and Pokémon VS are the two sets that introduced the Japanese first edition stamp in 2001, and this is one of those first edition copies.
