About this card
Of the three Houndour cards in Neo Discovery, this is the Fire one that got the foil; a second Fire Houndour sits at number 24 and a Darkness one at number 39. Aya Kusube, who came to the game from children's books, keeps the palette short here, rust-red banding on a body that stays nearly black. The Pokédex line printed under the art still calls Houndour the Dark Pokémon, a label this card's own type declines. Collect Fire deals twenty and then pulls a Fire Energy back out of the discard pile onto Houndour, so the cheap attack pays for the next one.
