About this card
In the video games a Shiny Mewtwo is green, but the foil here renders it deep blue instead. Both attacks call for Energy outside its own type, with Lightning beside Psychic on Reflect Shield and a Fire Energy that Psyburst has to discard. Hironobu Yoshida, a Game Freak designer credited on only a handful of cards in his career, drew five of the eight Shining Pokémon in this set. The Edition 1 stamp went on the boosters and boxes as well as the cards, so sealed 1st Edition product can be told apart from the outside.
