Arceus

Series: Platinum

Release date: November 4, 2009

Cards: 99 (12 secret)

Set code: PL4

Nine Arceus cards sit outside the numbering, lettered AR1 to AR9, one for each Energy type the game had at the time. They are also where the deck rules bend, since each of them replaces the usual limit of four with a line saying you may play as many copies as you like. Three Arceus LV.X sit inside the printed list, all carrying Multitype, which gives the Level-Up card the type of the Arceus underneath it, and the first of the three adds Omniscient, letting one Arceus use the attacks of every other Arceus you have in play. Shizurow rendered that one, Ryo Ueda the other two. Three shiny cards, Bagon, Ponyta and Shinx at SH10 to SH12, close the run of twelve that Stormfront had opened a year earlier. It is the last expansion of the Platinum series and the last of Japan's DPt era, and the Japanese version had gone on sale ten days before the twelfth Pokémon film opened. Arceus (PL4) was released on November 4, 2009 in the Platinum series, with 99 cards plus 12 secret rares. Its most expensive card is Gengar LV.X #97 (Rare Holo LV.X), at $296.75 (median of 5 sales over 30 days, October 1, 2026).
