Why do some Base Set Raichu carry a Prerelease stamp?
Raichu never had a prerelease. The stamped copies come from Jungle prerelease sheets of Clefable that a few Raichu had slipped into. Wizards of the Coast denied they existed for years, until one of its own employees published a photograph in 2006; around eight are thought to survive.
