About this card
The rules text here belongs to the CoroCoro Pikachu, one of two cards that reached readers five days before the first Japanese expansion went on sale in October 1996. The picture does not: Sugimori's Pikachu runs through green forest light, an image that first appeared on a card handed out at Toyota dealerships in late 1997. The Intro Pack reprinted that Toyota version rather than the original.

If the Defending Pokémon attacks Pikachu during your opponent's next turn, any damage done by the attack is reduced by 10 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). (Benching either Pokémon ends this effect.)
