Great Encounters

Series: Diamond & Pearl

Release date: February 13, 2008

Cards: 106

Set code: DP4

Japan released its fourth Diamond and Pearl block as two half sets, Moonlit Pursuit and Dawn Dash, then left six months before the next one, so the English game split them into two expansions of its own. This one is built mostly from Moonlit Pursuit, while Majestic Dawn, three months later, took most of Dawn Dash. Three theme decks came with it instead of the usual two, Eternal Time, Infinite Space and Endless Night, one apiece for Dialga, Palkia and Darkrai. Those three plus Cresselia are the Pokémon LV.X that close the numbering, and Darkrai also gets two separate holo cards, at three and four. Shizurow rendered the Darkrai LV.X, Ryo Ueda the Dialga and the Palkia. Felicity's Drawing, Premier Ball, Leftovers, Amulet Coin, Moonlight Stadium and Rare Candy are the Trainers, and a Porygon2 with a Download power was the card handed out at the prereleases. Great Encounters (DP4) was released on February 13, 2008 in the Diamond & Pearl series, with 106 cards. Its most expensive card is Dialga LV.X #105 (Rare Holo LV.X), at $135.20 (median of 7 sales over 30 days, October 2, 2026).
