About this card
Atsuko Nishida, who designed Pikachu, draws it here in a forest clearing, half turned with the tail up, the leaves behind dissolved into green and gold light. The flavour text explains the pose, since Pikachu raises its tail to check its surroundings and is sometimes struck by lightning while it does. Generations carries a second Pikachu at RC29, a full art by Kagemaru Himeno, so the expansion holds two very different readings of the same Pokemon.
