About this card
Toyota skipped the ivy tangle that collectors named this Pikachu after and used Ken Sugimori's official Pokemon Blue artwork instead. He turns the Pokemon three quarters on with one paw raised, the tail thrown out to the right in a broad zigzag, against a wash of blurred green leaves. Because the picture is different, collectors often decline to count this printing among the variants of the original, and the same drawing came back in the Intro Pack's Bulbasaur Deck in 1999.
