Omastar (Evolution Communication Campaign 1999)

About this card

White ammonite spirals hang on one side of the star field and a fossil skull with scattered bones on the other, so Omastar stands among its own remains. Yukiko Baba keeps it flat and perfectly symmetrical, tentacles spread wide, the beak reduced to a green disc crossed by a black line, while the printed entry blames the extinction on a shell that grew too big to catch prey. Trade evolution was the whole idea, and Omanyte alone among its five Pokemon evolves without one in the video games.
