No.3 Trainer (Pokemon Card Game Official Tournament 1997)

About this card

The cup here is bronze, small enough to hold against the chest in both hands, where the first place card has Pikachu raising a gold one overhead. That is the whole design of the series: Mitsuhiro Arita painted three separate pictures rather than recolouring one, and the podium underfoot carries a 3. The certificate names the holder third of the 1997 official tournament and then grants the same priority entry into later tournaments the champion received. Two stars in the corner put it in a rarity band almost nothing else in the Japanese game uses.
