About this card
The gold plaque across the top reads No.3 TRAINER, filling the band where a Trainer card of the period prints its own name, so the placing is the name. The 2000 and 2001 series were laid out that way, and the 2002 reprints moved the line to the top right corner instead. Growlithe and Pikachu are the only Pokémon in the picture, and the medal in the girl's hand is bronze. The certificate calls her a prize winner at third place rather than a champion, which is the wording every rank below first received.
