Daisuke Ochiai Mudkip (Pokemon Art Academy Competition 2015)

About this card

Mudkip sits down in a shallow stream with its eyes shut and its mouth wide open, the current breaking white around it over a bed of pale pebbles. The Pokedex line printed lower down says it reads its surroundings by feeling the water move past the fins on its cheeks. Daisuke Ochiai worked in flat colour with hard edges, closer to a sticker than to a painting.
