Charmander (64 Mario Stadium Best Photo Contest 1999)

About this card

Tsukasa Hosono's photograph catches a Charmander mid stride over volcanic rock, mouth open, tail flame raised into the top corner, with a second one small and blurred in the distance behind it. About a month after the entry went in, the show's producers telephoned and asked him to post his Pokémon Snap cartridge to them so the save data behind the shot could be verified. In compensation for parting with the game he was allowed to choose another one, which came to him along with the cards. Checking a screenshot, in 1999, meant checking the cartridge it lived on.
