Articuno (64 Mario Stadium Best Photo Contest 1999)

About this card

Where an expansion symbol would sit, the card prints a small camera firing its flash. Yui Tanaka photographed Articuno in near darkness, and the bird does not fit the frame: the crest crowds one top corner, the tail leaves the picture on the other side. The Pokédex line just below praises the sight of that long tail streaming out behind the bird in flight, which is exactly what the photographer cut off. Of the five cards this contest produced, it is the only one printed over a Mystery of the Fossils card rather than an Expansion Pack one.
