Pikachu (E3 Yellow Cheeks)

About this card

The cheek patches are printed yellow, and that one detail dates the card. Copies handed out on the E3 show floor in May 1999 carry red cheeks; the yellow ones came four months later, through Nintendo Power. Everything else is the Base Set Pikachu, Mitsuhiro Arita's forest clearing with light falling between the trunks, and even the 58 out of 102 is still there, with only the set symbol replaced by an E and a raised 3.
