Pikachu (World Hobby Fair Special Sheet 1997)

About this card

Sold as a loose expansion sheet rather than in boosters, this Pikachu reached buyers at the seventh Next Generation World Hobby Fair, whose dates doubled as the regional rounds of the Lizardon Mega Battle. Ken Sugimori catches it in mid air with its cheeks lit and a single white bolt cutting the dark behind it, and a small rarity star sits after the Pokédex number at the foot. The Red Deck of the Quick Starter Gift Set reprinted the same card that December, and on that copy the star is gone.
