Mewtwo (Pocket Monsters Fan Book 1997)

About this card

A violet aura fills the window, burning white where it flares and leaving the corners black, with Mewtwo pale mint green at the centre of it. Ken Sugimori painted this one for a fan book in 1997, and the same picture came back in English in November 1999, handed out at cinemas showing the first Pokémon film. The card puts the origin plainly: Pokémon genes recombined again and again, until something more savage than anything before it was born.
