Dark Persian (Pokemon Card Fan Club Magazine 1997)

About this card

Behind the cat, barely separated from the dark, sits the outline of a man: Giovanni, whose pet this is. The Pokemon description says as much, after noting that the beauty of its coat makes Persian a species people keep for show. Ken Sugimori painted this version for a Fan Club magazine, while the Team Rocket expansion ran a different Dark Persian by Shin-ichi Yoshida, and the promo still wears that expansion's R symbol.
