Sold as MEGA Expansion Pack 30th CELEBRATION, the Japanese edition of the anniversary set went on sale on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the same day as every other language, at 360 yen for six holofoil cards, one of them a Basic Energy guaranteed in every pack and drawn, like the key visual, by the graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN, with the publisher selling it by lottery through the Pokémon Center Online. Its 103 numbered cards picture Pokémon at different hours of a single day and open a new rarity, FUR for Futuristic Rare, held by Mew ex and Mewtwo ex: Mew ex can use the attacks of any Pokémon on its owner's Bench, Mewtwo ex hits for 230 and spreads 50 damage to each opposing Pokémon ex, and Greninja ex does 30 for every damage counter already on its target, Benched or not. Thirty Pikachu holofoils by thirty illustrators come one to a pack, and a 20-pack box is seeded so that none of them repeats. Thirty cards from the game's history return in a special finish, starting with the Pikachu of the first Expansion Pack of 1996, none of them legal in the current Standard format and all playable where their original is. The same day brings the Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon, two 60-card decks with Full Art Espeon ex and Umbreon ex in a tin double deck case at 6,200 yen, whose cards the international set absorbs, and the 27,500-yen Futuristic Box with two Pikachu ex promos in the FUR style; nine Card Sets follow on October 16, one per region's trio of first partners, each with three holofoil promos and two packs.
